::::: Kirkburn has also been informed of this discussion. So hopefully he will come and make a decision. Just note, renaming is a lot of work for an admin. I however believe in this case, it would be worth it, especially since it is a semi-official wiki. It should use conventions generally accepted by the community, or at least by staff. Hey there! I've switched the wiki name to "Templates Wiki" - and have made "Wikia Templates" as an alias to the project namespace, to avoid breaking existing links! How does that sound? Kirkburn (talk) <staff/> 15:28, December 20, 2017 (UTC)

Forums: Index Watercooler The name of the wiki

Recently on the Tommy Westphall Universe wiki, I went through and made sure all the wiki names matched. I think it would be a good idea to do that here too.

When using SITENAME, we see Templates Wiki. The logo reads Templates Wiki (on both Wikia and Monobook themes). The main page reads FANDOM Templates. Will the admin here please make up your minds about the name of the wiki?

I went through the process of changing a wiki name. So if you want this wiki's name to be Templates Wiki or FANDOM Templates, I would suggest you change the wiki's name.

Then you would have to go through and make all necessary adjustments.

 • Moving the main page to Templates Wiki.
 • Making sure all your project namespace pages are properly linked to the new project name space. I would seriously suggest using Project:<name> instead on the actual name of the space.
 • Changing the heading of the main page to match.

It is hard for users to know what to use with so many different names for the wiki being used. Lady Aleena (talk) 00:29, December 15, 2017 (UTC)

I support a clear and unified name, whatever that may be. The biggest hurdle may be going to the effort of creating new logo(s) to match. Henstepl (talk) 00:31, December 15, 2017 (UTC)
Not if they use the name Templates Wiki. Lady Aleena (talk) 00:33, December 15, 2017 (UTC)
Somehow, I doubt that. Henstepl (talk) 00:49, December 15, 2017 (UTC)
As hard as it may be to believe, this is actually a semi-official wiki that is technically managed at some level by Fandom staff. So, if you want this consistency naming change you can actually use Special:Contact/general to request it. You will also notice from Special:ListUsers/bureaucrat that the only bureaucrat is Kirkburn, who is Fandom staff, so you might want to direct any request to him directly.
I personally prefer just "Templates Wiki", but maybe we should go for "Templates Hub" to be more similar to w:c:p:Portability Hub wiki which is even more official than this one. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 14 Dec 2017 5:38 PM Pacific
