Forums: Index Help desk Daily template

Hello! I had a thought to make something on the front page the changes daily to list different characters or items.

I would like it to function through categories, so that it does this cycle on its own (Category: Update Thursday / Updates Sunday)

I was wondering if this is actually feasible and how I would go about doing so? I'm kind of stumped as to where I start.

I would use a combination of templates like Template:Monday front page, Template:Tuesday front page, etc. with what you want to show.
Then on the front page I would use the {{CURRENTDAYNAME}} magic word (shows: Monday) inside a template invocation like: {{{{CURRENTDAYNAME}} front page}}.
